Announcing the official launch of iRubric-for-Sakai, a comprehensive assessment and analysis suite for Sakai CLE.

Irvine, CA, Jan 21, 2010: Reazon Systems, Inc., a leading provider of education technologies has officially released “iRubric for Sakai” – a comprehensive rubric generation, assessment, and reporting suite for the Sakai CLE (Collaborative Learning Environment).

iRubric's seamless integration with Sakai CLE allows users to access iRubric directly from the Sakai gradebook. The platform provides educators with rubric generation and assessment tools, students with viewing capabilities for pre- and post-assessment, and administrators with detailed real-time reports for analysis and monitoring of student performance and learning outcomes. The use of rubrics, alignment with standards, and reporting capabilities of iRubric are invaluable for successful accreditation planning. The integration of iRubric with Sakai was the result of a year-long collaborative effort with the Indiana University culminating in a full semester of pilot testing.

“We are excited to have accomplished a seamless integration between the two platforms and to allow Sakai users to easily build and grade rubrics with a few simple clicks,” said Ramesh Sabetiashraf, the creator of iRubric. “Equally important was student privacy and security as sensitive student data transmitted between the two systems. From the onset, our integration effort placed a strong emphasis on ease-of-use and security. We are happy to have fulfilled both objectives to meet our users’ high standards.”

iRubric-for-Sakai is available to K-12 and Higher Education through a variety of flexible licensing and hosting options, designed to meet the needs of a wide range of organizational sizes. Hosting plans eliminate the need for internal infrastructure, IT support, and server maintenance. Schools may also select a licensing plan to host iRubric internally.

Through this integration effort, Indiana University’s OnCourse users can access iRubric from their familiar OnCourse environment, saving considerable time and effort in grading and the aggregation of detailed assessment data required for School of Education’s NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) accreditation reports.
